Update: World Series Game 1: Line Ups-Now With Video

We are now only a few hours away from the start of the 2012 World Series.  Game 1…and the winner of Game 1 has won 8 of the last 9 World Series, so to say this is important is an understatement.

I don’t believe that the loser of Game 1 cannot come back in anyway…it is just difficult.

With Justin Verlander on the mound against ANYONE the Tigers have the advantage and with it being against Barry Zito they have a big advantage.  Unless Gerry Davis squeezes him so much he’s out after just 6 innings, I think the Tigers win this one tonight.

Here are your lineups, the only surprise for the Tigers is that Leyland actually played Avila tonight, which I think is a good thing.  Also, if Verlander is ever going to get his first EVER hit it could be against Zito and his slow, batting practice “fast” balls:

Jackson, CF

Infante, 2B

Cabrera, 3B

Fielder, 1B

Young, LF

Peralta, SS

Garcia, RF

Avila, C

Verlander, P

And for the Giants:

Pagan, CF

Scutero, 2B

Sandoval, 3B

Posey, C

Pence, RF

Belt, 1B

Blanco, LF

Crawford, SS

Zito, P

There ya go, 8:07 EST first pitch (allegedly), skies are clear, temps in the mid 50’s during the game.

Now to kill some time before first pitch, watch these (over and over):
