Last Night’s Action: Another Loss, More Frustration

no confirmation on the rumor that Austin Jackson dented the baseball he hit out to lead off the game.

The best news from last night may be that the Twins beat the White Sox.  Scherzer pitched into the 6th again, but had already blown up in the inning and the bull pen didn’t stop any bleeding for him.

Austin Jackson led off with his 4th lead off home rum of the season and now has 11 on the season, only 70 more to go to tie Ricky Henderson for the all time lead.

Quintin Berry followed with a well placed double off the Green Moster but was unable to score.  In the third the tigers had runners galore but again were only able to plate one runner.

This is about it as the team continues to get runners on and hit into double plays when they could have big innings, letting pitchers off the hook for walks and singles.  Until they correct that, there isn’t much to say.
Boston again tonight, Verlander vs. Beckett, who hasn’t pitched well of late, giving up 29 earned runs in his last 8 starts.  So, we’ll see if the Tigers can get him on the ropes and finish him off early or, like last night with Bucholz, they just threaten a lot.

This is definately becoming the Tigers season of “Tigers threaten but do not score”…sad face.
